Questions and answers from the residents' meeting on 27 April 2018

How will the Borna roundabout be renovated? Will there be detours or a full road closure?

A statement on this can only be made at a later date.

Could a secondary school be opened in Glösa?

There are a total of twelve secondary school locations in Chemnitz. The decisive factor for the establishment or maintenance of schools is always the will of the parents, which is expressed in the enrolment figures. In principle, new secondary schools should have at least three pupils and be easily accessible by public transport. The construction of a new three-form entry secondary school in Glösa is ruled out due to insufficient pupil numbers.

There should be a left-turn lane when turning from Glösaer Straße onto Chemnitztalstraße.

Studies have already been carried out to determine whether a left-turn lane could be installed. Unfortunately, the road does not offer enough space.

Various ideas are currently being collated as to how the traffic situation could be improved. A decision is to be made before the end of the year.

What is the timetable for the further construction of the Chemnitz model in the direction of Limbach Oberfrohna?

The VMS and CVAG will start planning next year, which is expected to last until 2020. Completion of the line would possibly be possible by 2024/25. However, only the planning will reveal more details.

What is the current status of the further construction of the Südverbund?

DEGES has been commissioned to plan and build. The planning approval procedure is currently underway. Construction could take place between 2020 and 2023.
