Zwickauer Strasse to be redesigned

Final event with presentation and discussion of the results: Wednesday, 29 September, 5 p.m., Chemnitz Tram Museum, Zwickauer Straße 164

How can the street space and its surrounding areas be made more attractive? Where can meeting places with a quality of stay be created? What possibilities are there to fill vacant buildings and brownfield sites with new uses?

A framework plan for Zwickauer Strasse was drawn up last year with the involvement of key stakeholders, interested residents, associations and City of Chemnitz offices. Key topics included how to deal with large, partly vacant industrial monuments, open and brownfield sites, vacant flats and gaps between buildings.

The result is a brochure that is intended to serve as a compass for further action and, as a broadly coordinated, informal plan, contains important strategic and urban planning "guard rails" for the future design of this important urban space. The results of the process will now be presented and discussed at an official closing event. Chemnitz residents are cordially invited to attend.

The final event will take place on 29 September 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chemnitz Tram Museum, Zwickauer Straße 164, with admission from 4.30 p.m.

Please note the pandemic and hygiene rules applicable on the day of the event!
