YouthArtTriennial 2018 of the Saxon-Bavarian city network
Young people between the ages of 14 and 25 are invited to take part
The 2018 YouthArtTriennial of the Saxon-Bavarian network of cities is being announced for the ninth time and the major competition exhibition will be presented from 3 March to 2 April 2018 at the Galerie im Malzhaus in Plauen.
Young people aged 14 to 25 from the cities of Chemnitz, Zwickau, Plauen, Hof and Bayreuth and their surrounding areas can use the summer holidays to create a work of art and take part in the competition. The submission deadlines in Chemnitz are on 6, 7 and 9 November 2017 from 1 to 6 pm in the Kultur.RAUM in the foyer of the TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20.
An expert jury will decide on the awarding of prizes and the works that will be presented in Plauen. In the age categories from 14 to 18 years and 19 to 25 years, for example, a total of four main prizes of 500 euros each await their recipients. The jury member for Chemnitz is the artist and freelance lecturer Peggy Albrecht, who herself was a prizewinner in the first competition.
Since 1998, the year it was launched, almost 4000 young people have taken part in the art competition organised by the city network and their creativity and initiative have made the JugendKunstTriennale a success.
Young artists can find further information in the competition leaflet, which will be distributed to educational and cultural institutions over the next few days and can be collected from the KulturRAUM in the TIETZ or downloaded here:
