Youth welfare office presents welcome gifts for newborns

Offer for new parents at the extended Christmas market

From Wednesday to Friday, 27 to 30 December, from 2 pm to 6 pm, Chemnitz parents who have had a child this year can pick up a small belated welcome gift from the City of Chemnitz. This is possible at the extended Chemnitz Christmas market on Düsseldorfer Platz and Richard-Möbius-Straße at the Youth Welfare Office stand in the large pyramid.

Representatives of the media are also invited to attend.

Anyone wishing to collect the gift will need the child's birth certificate and the identity card of one of the parents. If you are unable to attend at that time, you can collect the gift from the Moritzhof customer portal on 9 or 23 January 2024, from 2 pm to 6 pm.

From 2024, the welcome gift for newborns will be handed over directly together with the birth certificate at the two maternity clinics or at the registry office. This was decided by the city council in March with the 2023/24 municipal budget.

The Christmas market will continue after Christmas on the initiative of ChemnitzCity and the City of Chemnitz's Department of Economic Affairs with other partners. The traders and restaurateurs on Düsseldorfer Platz and Richard-Möbius-Straße will be open daily from 12 noon to 9 pm between the holidays. In addition to the Youth Welfare Office, Chemnitz companies will also be presenting their job offers under the motto "Coming home" from 2 pm to 6 pm. The main target group are former Chemnitz residents who are thinking about returning home.
