Youth welfare committee decides on financial contributions for various child and youth welfare organisations
At its meeting yesterday, the Youth Welfare Committee approved the allocation of financial resources for construction measures at various child and youth welfare centres. This concerns a youth leisure facility and day care centres run by recognised independent providers. Furthermore, the committee approved the guidelines of the City of Chemnitz's Office for Youth and Family Affairs for the funding of construction measures and equipment for youth welfare services in accordance with SGB VIII. This guideline already applies to applications for the 2015 financial year.
Youth welfare committee approves grants for independent youth welfare projects for the 2015 financial year
The grants totalling EUR 26,880.18 will be awarded to the following projects:
Sächsischer Kinder- und Jugendfilmdienst e. V. will receive €4,240.07 for draining the children's film house at Neefestraße 99. Arthur e. V. will receive €12,300 for the construction of a second escape route. Familienverein für Groß und Klein e. V. received a cupboard kitchen, a notebook and a printer for a total of €1,122.30. Jugendberufshilfe Chemnitz gGmbH also received a laptop, a camera, a company bicycle and a company mobile phone for the mobile youth work project for a total of 1,631.14 euros. For the "Jugendwerkstatt Aktivierungshilfe" project, Jugendberufshilfe will receive office equipment for €4,627.77. Selbsthilfe 91 e. V. received a dishwasher for 1,500 euros and Different people e. V. a work PC with monitor and keyboard as well as a guest PC for a total of 1,458.90 euros.
Kindervereinigung e. V. receives grant for youth leisure centre "B-Plan"
The Youth Welfare Committee has approved a grant totalling around 138,000 euros for the construction work at the B-Plan youth club at Bernsdorfer Straße 218. The money will be used for the first construction phase of the building. The outer shell of the building will be renovated and the electrics and heating will be replaced. The grant of 73,000 euros is subject to the approval of state funds by the Saxony Municipal Social Association and will only be disbursed once the approval notice from the KSV has been received.
AWO receives financial grant for day-care centre Am Harthwald 128/130
Arbeiterwohlfahrt Kreisverband Chemnitz und Umgebung e. V. is receiving around 98,000 euros for the complete renovation of the outdoor facilities at the Am Harthwald 128/130 daycare centre. The day care centre offers 211 places, all of which are occupied. The daycare centre will also be retained in the long term. After the outer shell of the building was renovated last year, the outdoor area is now being renovated, as it was built in 1980. A drainage system will be installed, underground pipes laid in the outdoor area, terrain adjustments made, the outside railings greened and existing areas paved. A second construction phase is required in the 2016 budget to make the drainage system functional. The independent organisation Arbeiterwohlfahrt Kreisverband Chemnitz und Umgebung e. V. is responsible for the construction work.
Financial contribution for the Sonnenstraße 42 day care centre run by Caritasverband Chemnitz und Umgebung e. V.
The independent youth welfare organisation Caritasverband Chemnitz und Umgebung e. V. is receiving a financial grant of 150,000 euros for the complete renovation of the Sonnenstraße 42 day care centre. This grant is earmarked for planning services. The building, which has been used temporarily as a day care centre up to now, will be operated permanently as a day care centre by the Caritas association in the long term. It has a capacity of 80 places. The complete refurbishment of the building and the outdoor facilities is unavoidable. In addition to the energy-efficient renovation of the exterior of the building, including the roof, façade and windows, it is planned to completely renovate all the building services, sanitary facilities and the interior fittings. The outside area is to be refurbished in accordance with the current municipal accident insurance (GUV) regulations. The fencing will be adapted to the new division of the property and the existing play equipment will be moved. The planning documents are scheduled to be drawn up this year. The construction work is scheduled for 2016. The building owner will be the voluntary organisation Caritasverband.
