Youth welfare committee approves financial grants for renovations in daycare centres run by recognised independent providers
Yesterday, the Youth Welfare Committee approved financial contributions for two construction measures that recognised independent youth welfare organisations want to implement this year.
Bernhardstraße 77 day care centre to receive new underground pipes
Kinder- Jugend und Familienhilfe e.V. will receive 35,000 euros for the renewal of the underground pipes in the day care centre at Bernhardstraße 77.
In accordance with the current requirements plan for day-care centres, the day-care centre will be maintained in the long term. Due to the statutes on public wastewater disposal in the city of Chemnitz, the retrofitting of a grease separator is urgently required. In the course of this, the wastewater and rainwater pipes in the basement will be renewed and the discharge and inspection shafts will be upgraded (reinforced?).

Day care centre at 299/301 Usti nad Labem Street gets a new kitchen
The Sächsische Sozialakademie gGmbH is receiving 150,000 euros for the renovation of the kitchen in the day care centre at 299/301 Usti nad Labem Street.
This facility will also continue to exist in the future according to the current day-care centre requirements plan. After the sanitary facilities, heating and exterior façade were renovated in the first construction phase, the second construction phase will continue this year with the renovation of the kitchen.
The independent provider currently operates a cookery kitchen in the basement of the daycare centre, which dates back to 1977 and is in need of renovation. This has been criticised several times by the health authority for hygiene reasons. Due to these deficiencies, the kitchen needs to be refurbished. As part of the refurbishment, the technology will be brought up to date and the utilisation of the space will be improved according to ergonomic criteria.
The entire construction project is to be financed with the approved 150,000 euros. The Sächsische Sozialakademie gGmbH is the client.
