Youth Welfare Committee adopts updated guidelines for funding measures from the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund

At its meeting yesterday, the Youth Welfare Committee approved the updated guidelines of the Office for Youth and Family of the City of Chemnitz for the promotion of measures from the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund (B-028/2013); the draft resolution had previously also been discussed in the Culture and Sports Committee.

The funding of measures from the "Socio-Cultural Youth Fund" was previously regulated by the guidelines adopted on 1 November 2006. The Culture and Sports Committee and the Youth Welfare Committee had commissioned the administration to adapt this guideline to current issues, legal bases and procedures. The guideline was revised to ensure that the purpose of the funding, legal bases, general funding requirements, application and approval procedures, scope, amount and type of funding as well as the recipient's obligations to notify and cooperate are formulated more clearly and unambiguously for applicants.

Amendments and updates were developed by the members of the "Socio-Cultural Youth Fund Working Group" together with the Cultural Office and Youth Welfare Office. Topics such as ecology, environmental protection and urban regeneration are now also included in the funding guidelines, whereby the innovative character of a project is always the decisive factor for consideration. Another new feature is that minors can now also apply for funding for a project via an association. In accordance with the guidelines, projects and events can be funded with a maximum of 2,500 euros per measure, taking into account an own contribution as before.

Another 50,000 euros have been earmarked for the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund for 2013. (PM 581 from 12/09/2012.)
