Chemnitz music students successful at the state competition in Reichenbach and Zwickau
37 young musicians from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School are celebrating their successful participation in this year's state competition "Jugend musiziert" in Reichenbach and Zwickau. Eight of these young musicians were awarded 1st prize.
In the category "Duo: piano and a string instrument", four pupils from the Chemnitz music school took part in the state competition last weekend and impressed the jury with very good and excellent performances. Maximilian Zaunick and Jonathan Morgenstern were awarded 1st prize. However, the duo in age group II is too young for the national competition.
Five duos from the Chemnitz Music School presented themselves in the "Piano four-hands" category. Never before had the music school been able to forward so many state competition participants in this category. The brothers Cornelius and Lennard Glanz achieved 24 points.
Six pupils from the Chemnitz Music School auditioned in the "Guitar Solo" category. Kevin Rau scored 24 points and was therefore forwarded to the national competition.
Three Chemnitz students performed in the "Recorder Solo" category. Josefine Lehmann won first prize in this category as a young accompanist with 24 points.
In the category "Duo: piano and voice", four Chemnitz participants presented themselves. There were also pleasing results. The duo Karolin Scheunert andNanette Gruber scored 23 points and made it through to the national competition.
In the "Wind Solo" category, two clarinettists and a flutist from the Chemnitz Music School performed very successfully.
All participants from Chemnitz received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at this year's state competition.
The young musicians can be very proud of their achievements; they represented their home town excellently in Reichenbach and Zwickau. The results also reflect the high-quality pedagogical work at the Municipal Music School.
