Youth athletes are honoured
This coming Saturday, the Sportjugend Chemnitz in the SSBC e.V. is organising the
5th Youth Athlete Award. Young talents from sports clubs in the city will be honoured with the "Young Athlete of the Year" award.
For the second time in 2016, the City of Chemnitz and the Chemnitz/Dresden Olympic Training Centre will also be honouring athletes who have successfully competed in international championships. The selected young people are already playing a role among the world's best and are promising Chemnitz top athletes of tomorrow. Philipp Rochold, Mayor for Education, Youth, Social Affairs, Culture and Sport, will be honouring and lauding the "Best International Achievement".
The youth athlete award ceremony will take place on 19 March at 5 pm in the event area on the cinema level of the Galerie Roter Turm. The patrons of the event are speed skaters and brothers Denny and Nico Ihle.
