Your day, your city - skate - play table football - help shape it

International Youth Day - on 12 August, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Stadthallenpark

On Monday, 12 August, from 3 to 6 p.m., young people are invited to the "International Youth Day" in the Stadthallenpark.

In addition to many offers that inspire young people for their leisure activities, the focus will be on opportunities for participation in Chemnitz. A welcoming culture, cosmopolitanism and diversity will be reflected in the programme. Young people from different religions, countries of origin and cultures will have the opportunity to get to know each other, exchange ideas and have a good time together, on this day or perhaps even beyond this day.

The young people can look forward to mobile skate ramps, graffiti walls, a mobile band rehearsal room, a mobile youth club, a giant table football table, various creative activities and much more. They can use an open participation pinboard to find out about various opportunities for participation in Chemnitz. The results of the last youth meeting and the city of Chemnitz's planned new family app will be presented.

The International Youth Day takes place every year on 12 August. The day was established by the United Nations to draw particular attention to young people and emphasise how important it is to involve them in shaping their cities.

Many committed cooperation partners in Chemnitz have already set out to implement this day in 2023. A working group from the youth welfare office, health department, the art collections and various independent organisations prepared the day this year.

The event is financially supported by the "Johanneum" Children and Youth Foundation and the Chemnitz Centre Citizens' Platform.
