"Young Workshop - My Museum of Dreams" special exhibition
Press event on 25 November, 11 a.m., Museum of Natural History Chemnitz, TIETZ
On Monday, 25 November at 11 a.m., representatives of the media are invited to a press conference on the special exhibition "Young Workshop - My Museum of Dreams" at the Museum of Natural History Chemnitz, TIETZ. Dr Thorid Zierold, Head of the Natural Sciences Department, and museum educator Isabelle Ehle will provide insights into the development process of the exhibition and invite visitors to try out the experience stations.
What interactive elements would you like to see in the Museum of Natural History? Which topics inspire you? These were the central questions of the "Young Workshop - My Museum of Dreams" project. After a kick-off event at the museum and an ideas phase, the students measured, sawed, filmed and made pottery. Pupils from the Chemnitz school model brought the Chemnitz Petrified Forest to life with games, animated films and audio contributions. The children and young people involved in the project wanted to make Chemnitz's unique geological history tangible. The museum team worked with them to develop ideas for the experience level of the future permanent exhibition at the Museum of Natural History.
The special exhibition "Young Workshop - My Museum of Dreams" is the result of the participatory project led by Isabelle Ehle. The museum successfully acquired third-party funding from the Saxon State Ministry of Science and the Arts totalling 19,500 euros1) for the project.
The exhibition will be opened on Tuesday 26 November at 5 pm at the Museum für Naturkunde. Interested parties are cordially invited to attend. Pupils from the Chemnitz School Model and the Vocal Patriots will set the tone for the opening.
