Young people from Europe visit Chemnitz

On Monday, 1 July at 14:30, young people from Spain, Poland, Romania and Germany will be guests at Chemnitz City Hall. They will experience a guided tour of the town hall and gain an insight into the development and European work of the city of Chemnitz. The visit to the town hall is part of the 10-day "fit for future" programme that the 25 young people are completing in Chemnitz.

Under the direction of the solaris Förderzentrum für Jugend & Umwelt gGmbH, "Fit for future" aims to support young people from all over Europe aged between 15 and 25 in their career and study orientation. In addition to imparting specialist knowledge and technical skills, the programme also aims to improve professionally relevant social skills.

The young people can expect a varied programme of workshops, excursions and other practical events, such as an afternoon on the high ropes course or a tour of Chemnitz University of Technology. The young people will also take part in the Solaris Cup and visit the World Skills Fair in Leipzig.

"Fit for future" is funded by the EU's "Youth in Action" programme.
