Young Germans - young French - young Europeans

Photo opportunity: Reception at the town hall on 22 March, 1.30 pm, foyer at the main entrance

On Thursday, 22 March 2018, around 25 students from France will visit Chemnitz City Hall as part of an exchange programme. The EU Coordinator of the City of Chemnitz, Pia Sachs, will welcome the students at
1.30 p.m. and will first introduce them to the EU work of the City of Chemnitz. The participants will then be given a guided tour of the town hall with further information on Chemnitz's history.

The Georgius-Agricola Gymnasium in Chemnitz has maintained an active school partnership with a grammar school in Pontarlier, France, for almost 30 years now. Every two years, the two institutions organise a meeting with pupils from years 10 and 11.

The exchange week is accompanied by a special project and activities. This year's focus is on the topic "Young Germans - young French - young Europeans?". The main focus is on the everyday lives and leisure activities of young people from both countries. The young people's views, visions for the future and opportunities in relation to Europe are of particular importance.
