The book

In a secluded forest clearing, young Lorea leads a fairly quiet life with her family, who have been cast out for witchcraft. But one night their house falls victim to a fire from which only Lorea and her mother narrowly escape. They flee to the south of their English homeland to escape the pursuers behind the fire who are after their lives. Lorea only realises what dangers still lie in wait for them when she encounters robbers and a mysterious stranger. Can she trust the tramp?
