World Health Day - Diabetes

Information event organised by the public health department on 7 April from 3 to 4.30 pm

World Health Day is celebrated around the world every year on 7 April. The World Health Organisation (WHO) commemorates its founding in 1948 with this day.

Every year, a different health topic of global relevance is selected for World Health Day. The aim is to raise global awareness of what the WHO considers to be a priority health issue. This year, the WHO is placing diabetes at the centre of World Health Day.

To mark the occasion, the Chemnitz Health Department is organising an information event on the topic of "Diabetes" on Thursday, 7 April 2016. The presentation by the health counsellor will take place from 15:00 to approx. 16:30 in Moritzhof (09111 Chemnitz, Bahnhofstraße 53) in room 645. Admission is free. The main focus is on the prevention of diabetes. The content of the lecture will therefore include the structure and function of the pancreas, the basics of sugar metabolism, forms of diabetes and ways to prevent diabetes.

Interested citizens are cordially invited to the Moritzhof on this day. Please note that it is not possible to clarify individual, specific complaints and illnesses during the lecture. Enquiries by telephone on: 0371/4885390.
