World Book Day - Saving the Consilia from decay
Press conference on 23 April, 11 a.m., Central Library at TIETZ
To mark World Book Day, the TIETZ City Library is hosting a press conference next Tuesday, 23 April at 11 a.m. in the LearningRoom (Science and Technology section) to mark the rescue of a 15th century bibliophile treasure.
The bibliophile treasure "Consilia" by Nicolaus Panormitanus de Tudeschis has been saved from decay thanks to a generous donation from PUNKT 191 Marketing & Design.
Significant damage to the "Consilia", an anthology consisting of three incunabula with legal content dating from 1475 to 1478, made extensive, cost-intensive restoration necessary. The volume is now available again for academic research purposes.
Another campaign for World Book Day
For the 17th time, the members of the 1st Chemnitz Authors' Association have provided the library with love poems, mottoes and short stories they have written themselves for the "Pick a poem - pick a story" campaign. Hung on a washing line, the texts are waiting for their readers to pick them, be inspired and take them home with them.
