Workshop on mobility in the Altchemnitz neighbourhood
Invitation for interested parties: on 31 August, from 2.30 pm in the Wirkbau
On Wednesday, 31 August, from 2.30 to 6 pm, interested parties are invited to a workshop on "Mobility in Altchemnitz" in the Wirkbau, main building E, in the conference rooms on the 1st floor.
Altchemnitz, between the railway viaduct at Wirkbau and Solbrigstraße, is developing into a modern inner-city location for creative work and leisure with short distances in the area and easy access to all forms of mobility.
In May of this year, the City of Chemnitz conducted an online survey of companies and organisations based in Altchemnitz on the topic of mobility. The responses will now be analysed in a workshop with interested citizens, employees and employers from Altchemnitz.
Initial ideas for concrete measures will be developed in the workshop together with transport experts: Walking and cycling are to be strengthened and local transport better utilised. However, freight and car traffic in the area should also be considered in order to create a more compatible coexistence. What will our needs in the area and mobility behaviour be like in the future? How can we become more environmentally friendly, produce modern goods and also gain leisure time through more efficient journeys and movement? Answers to these and other questions will be found together.
The new green roof garden in the Wirkbau can also be visited during the workshop.
