Working group on public safety and order in major German cities meets in Chemnitz
Mayor Miko Runkel, Head of the Department of Law, Safety and Environmental Protection, welcomes the participants to the meeting early on Wednesday afternoon at the Bürgerhaus Am Wall. The working group will then meet for its deliberations on Thursday and Friday in the City Council Chamber of Chemnitz City Hall. Nikolaus Christ, Head of the Chemnitz Public Order Office, will chair the working group as a representative of the City of Chemnitz.
The working group serves as a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences between the municipalities; the discussions are not public. The working group meeting in Chemnitz is organised by the city's public order office in cooperation with the city's mayor's office. The topics of the working group in Chemnitz arise from the diverse tasks of the public order offices, in particular from the areas of commercial law, general public order law, road law and hunting law.
The programme for the guests includes a tour of the city with city guide Grit Linke on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. and a tour of the town hall with tower keeper Stefan Weber on Thursday at around 1 p.m.
