Work on the stadium in the final stages/ Zietenstraße car park asphalted
Status of construction work at the stadium on Gellertstrasse
The Planning, Construction and Environment Committee was informed about the status of work on the stadium construction site on Gellertstraße this afternoon as scheduled.
The floor coating on the terraces and the entrance to the players' and press areas of the west and main stands, which have not yet been released, is being completed. The seating is almost completely installed. In the adjoining main building, remaining work such as painting, flooring and electrical installations are still being carried out. Work on the outdoor facilities (in the Zietenstrasse area) is also in full swing. The car parks and access areas have been largely completed.
The additional upgrading measures approved by the city council have also been carried out. Three camera platforms for TV broadcasts have been installed under the roof and the video surveillance technology is operational and connected to a monitor wall in the police security centre in accordance with the standard specifications of the DFB and DFL. Eco-paving was laid on the Zietenstraße car park behind the main building, an access to the main building was paved and the driveways were asphalted.
Of the contractually agreed construction costs totalling around 26.9 million euros, around
25.2 million euros have already been paid out for services.
General contractor BAM Sports has commissioned 53 subcontractors with partial services. The majority of the contracts were awarded to companies in the region: 34 companies come from the Chemnitz area and Saxony.
Chemnitz residents and interested parties are cordially invited to the stadium opening on 18 June. The stadium open day promises to be a real experience - and not just for football fans. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., all areas of the new arena will be open to the curious.

The remodelling of the stadium on Gellertstraße is taking place without interrupting match operations. The result is a modern arena with 15,000 seats, of which around 9,000 are seated and 6,000 standing, including a family block and barrier-free seating. The client is the city of Chemnitz.
