Women's festival on the occasion of Europe Week
Event on 3 May, from 5 pm at the Lila Villa Women's Centre
On Tuesday, 3 May, from 5 p.m., interested parties are invited to the Europe Festival for Women at the Lila Villa Women's Centre, Kaßbergstraße 22. The event is being organised by the City of Chemnitz Equal Opportunities Officer Pia Hamann, the EU Office of the City of Chemnitz and the Lila Villa Women's Centre in Chemnitz to mark this year's Europe Week, which is taking place nationwide from 30 April to 9 May.
Representatives of the media are invited.
In addition to lots of information as well as serious and humorous stories about Europe, there will be musical and cultural contributions as well as culinary surprises. A contribution on the topic of "Fairtrade Town" Chemnitz completes the programme.
The exhibition "Through the Eyes of Women", which was opened on International Women's Day and in which female artists from Chemnitz and the surrounding area as well as from Chemnitz's twin cities Łódź and Tampere are involved, can be viewed on this occasion. Some of the artists will be present.
Refugee women from Ukraine will also take part in the festival. "The understandable concern of all women is always - but especially now - peace in Europe and around the world. That is why we have invited the winner of the Chemnitz Peace Prize Adel Matar as a special item on the programme, who will release peace doves at around 5.15 pm," says Pia Hamann.
