Women, do politics! In dialogue with female city councillors
Adult education centre: Talk on 8 November, 7 p.m., TIETZ, Room 4.07
On Wednesday, 8 November, from 7 to 8.30 p.m., interested parties are invited to talk to four female city councillors from different political groups about their involvement in local politics in Chemnitz. The event is particularly aimed at women who would like to find out more and perhaps even be encouraged to become active in local politics themselves. The guests are: Julia Bombien (SPD), Sabine Brünler (DIE LINKE), Christin Furtenbacher (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) and Almut Patt (CDU).
The event will be moderated by Pia Hamann, Equal Opportunities Officer for the City of Chemnitz.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible online or by e-mail to info(at)vhs-chemnitz.de.
More than half of the people in Germany are female. But this proportion is not reflected in politics and political offices. However, real-life politics needs more women and their perspective on people's concerns. This also applies to Chemnitz.
The event focusses on the local political commitment of women. The personal experiences of female city councillors will take centre stage. How do they manage to reconcile family, career and voluntary work? What drives them, what motivates them for their commitment?
The event is a cooperation between the City of Chemnitz Equal Opportunities Officer and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
