Next Monday (4 February) sees the start of the winter holidays in Saxony, and once again Chemnitz Zoo and the associated wildlife park are worthwhile holiday destinations - here is the programme with the special offers:

If you would like to take part in the special guided tours at Chemnitz Zoo, you should make a note of the days from 5 to 8 February and 11 to 15 February: The programme starts at 11 a.m. each day and the topics change. Tours will take you to the zoo's warm houses, for example to the newborn meerkats (PM 32 from 24.1.), to the pygmy hippopotamus family in the tropical house and to the surprisingly diverse and colourful frogs and amphibians in the vivarium.

Each tour lasts around 30 to 45 minutes. For visitors who are visiting the zoo anyway, participation in the tour is free of charge. The meeting point for the guided tours is always in the inner entrance area of the zoo (right next to the ticket office).

The show feedings of the marmosets (daily at 2 p.m.) and the sloths (at 2 p.m. on weekends) are of course also worth an extra visit and an invitation to take a break in the warmth. Depending on the weather, you can also watch the feeding of the coatis (daily at 2.45 pm) and the porcupines (daily at 2.30 pm).

A visit to the zoo's wildlife enclosure also promises exciting animal observations: the winter months, when there is little vegetation, provide a good view of red deer, fallow deer and many other animal inhabitants. Show feedings also take place every weekday at 11 a.m. - alternating between lynx and wolf (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and mouflon and wild boar (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
