Winner of the Roland Zimmer Competition comes from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School
Anna Günther, a pupil at Chemnitz Municipal Music School, is the winner of the Roland Zimmer Competition 2024. The 18-year-old from Chemnitz achieved an outstanding third prize in her age group, in which 15 applicants competed.
This year's Roland Zimmer Competition took place at the Saxon Switzerland Music School in Pirna at the beginning of April. Children and young people faced the comparative judgement of a jury with challenging programmes for the guitar, mandolin and zither.
The programme presented by Anna Günther included works by Napoleon Coste, Johann Sebastian Bach, Leo Brouwer and Eduardo Sainz de la Maza.
Anna Günther has been a sponsored pupil of the Association of German Music Schools for two years and this success has once again confirmed her suitability for participation in this sponsorship programme.
