Winklerstraße is currently being renovated - Matthesstraße closed from Monday
The carriageway on Winklerstraße between Dorotheenstraße and Bergstraße is currently being renewed as part of the winter damage repair programme. This involves removing the old carriageway and applying a new surface and binder course as well as a base course.
Winklerstraße will remain fully closed to traffic until 19 October 2013. The diversion will take place in a landward direction via Hechlerstraße/Salzstraße/Bergstraße. In the direction of the city centre, traffic will be routed via Bergstraße/Schloßteichstraße. In the area of the Winklerstraße/Bergstraße junction, the signalised crossing will be closed on site. Pedestrians will be guided to the other side of the road at the traffic lights.
In addition, Matthesstraße will be fully closed for a fortnight from next Monday. The reason for this is the crossing of the drinking water pipeline along Bergstrasse. This measure had to be postponed due to the construction work on Leipziger Straße. The civil engineering office asks road users for their understanding and increased attention, especially with the diversion signs.
The company Faber Bau GmbH has been commissioned with the realisation of the project at a cost of 61,500 euros.
