Who is (still) in the mood for a youth club?
Opinions from young Chemnitz residents are in demand
Today, 25 April, a survey is being launched by a social work student who wants to find out more about young people's leisure activities and how well known youth clubs are as part of his bachelor's thesis. Until 17 May, young people aged between 14 and 27 are invited to express their preferences and needs with regard to youth clubs. It does not matter whether the young people have already visited a youth club or not, as all opinions and ideas are welcome.
Participation in the survey is possible online in the city of Chemnitz's participation portal at https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/1040830 and takes about 10 minutes.
The student is currently completing the practical part of his dual study programme in a children's and youth leisure facility sponsored by the City of Chemnitz. The City of Chemnitz is supporting the student in his survey by providing the participation portal.
The City of Chemnitz supports 23 open youth welfare centres in 17 of the city's 39 districts. Youth clubs are not just places to hang out. They play an important role in promoting personal development and social cohesion among young people. With a variety of voluntary programmes, youth clubs provide a space for young people to meet and spend their free time together.
In order to make life in Chemnitz more attractive for young people, the city of Chemnitz would like to involve young people more. An initial start was made with the youth survey in spring 2023 and the 1st Chemnitz Youth Meeting in December 2023.
