In his lecture, Dietmar Nietan will look at political developments in Poland since the parliamentary elections in October 2023. Where is the country heading? Many people are hoping that the new government will increasingly ease tensions in German-Polish relations, both directly between neighbours and within the European Union. He will also shed light on how these long-standing neighbourly relations are cultivated at the Federal Foreign Office within the framework of inter-societal and cross-border cooperation.
Afterwards, the speaker would like to enter into dialogue with the participants on current topics and the rapprochement between Germans and Poles.
