What is happiness in life?
Multimedia lecture on 28 September, 7 p.m., event hall at the TIETZ
On Tuesday, 28 September, from 7 to 8.30 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to a special evening on the topic of "One thousand times happiness in life - remembering what counts!" in the event hall at the TIETZ. Admission costs 5 euros.
(The pandemic and hygiene rules in force at the time of the event must be observed).
Former management consultant Christof Jauernig will tell his story in a multimedia presentation: Because he only realised what happiness really is and how close he was to it when he radically left his job, reinvented himself and went on tour in Germany with his story of awakening "Thoughts Lost - Unthinking". Along the way, he asked people in 60 cities - including at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre - about their precious moments in life and compiled a potpourri of happiness ingredients.
To be happy at last - many people wish for nothing more. But is happiness really so far away? Or is it more tangible at the edge of life's journey - and just waiting to be discovered? The evening provides a moving and diverse testimony of simple, tangible and often free moments of happiness. Compiled from the candidly written contributions of over 1,000 people, the moments presented are a reminder of the preciousness of everyday life. And how close a true feeling of happiness can be.
The author lends the evening an atmospheric, meditative character through his typical blend of screen projections, carefully placed, almost poetic accompanying words and self-recorded background music.
The event is a co-operation between the Chemnitz City Library and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
