Watering the trees next weekend too
The watering of Chemnitz's street trees, which has been taking place since Wednesday, will continue next weekend. The brief rainfall at midday today was not heavy enough.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Chemnitz fire brigade will continue to support the staff with the unscheduled and necessary watering of the street trees. As in previous days, the fire brigade will be deploying two fire engines, travelling to the relevant locations and watering the trees. An employee from the Parks Department will be on board the fire engines to coordinate the work and ensure that the trees are watered properly.
If it rains heavily at the weekend, the watering measures can be cancelled.
Optionally, the operation can also be extended over the weekend.
