Wastewater charges decided in the city of Chemnitz
At its meeting today, the City Council approved the new wastewater charges in the City of Chemnitz from 1 January 2019.
For the discharge of wastewater via public sewers into the public sewage treatment plant, the charges for this customer group total 3.00 euros/m³ for wastewater and 1.09 euros/m² for rainwater.
In comparison with other cities and taking into account the investments in the invisible infrastructure of the City of Chemnitz for the environmentally friendly treatment and disposal of wastewater and stormwater included in this calculation period, it has been possible to keep the fee adjustments of the newly calculated wastewater fees of the City of Chemnitz moderate and in some cases even constant. The fees for the disposal of wastewater from drainless pits were even reduced to 5.48 euros/m³ and for the disposal of faecal and wastewater sludge from small sewage treatment plants or faecal pits to 41.93 euros/m³.
In the calculation period 2019 to 2020, an average annual investment of almost 30 million euros is planned for the city of Chemnitz's wastewater network.
