Warning strike on 12 May in municipal daycare centres

The trade union ver.di has called on employees in social and educational professions in municipal daycare centres to go on warning strike on Thursday, 12 May.
The City of Chemnitz, as the provider of the municipal daycare centres, will not decide on any closures or partial closures in advance and will not organise emergency care in the daycare centres.
If employees from municipal daycare centres take part in the warning strike and this leads to restrictions in childcare, parents will be informed by the respective centre. These facilities must organise emergency care.
If a trade union calls a strike, all employees of these facilities have the right to strike if they are affected by the "object of the strike". The right to strike is protected by the constitution (Article 9 (3) of the Basic Law).
