Waldorf School shows art by pupils at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre

Exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of the Waldorf school movement

On Thursday, 19 September at 6 pm, an art exhibition by pupils of the Chemnitz Waldorf School will open with a vernissage on the 4th and 5th floor of the TIETZ adult education centre to mark the 100th anniversary of the Waldorf movement. Interested parties are cordially invited. Admission to the opening and exhibition is free.

The more than 100 selected works in the exhibition were created in the all-day drawing programme at the Waldorf School, under the guidance of the Chemnitz-based artist Yaroslav Kurbanov. The pupils are between 9 and 14 years old and their works deal with animal behaviour. Fascinatingly realistic and naturalistic images of various animal species have been created. The works are complemented by large-format artworks from the Art A-levels. The exhibition provides a lively insight into the teaching content of Waldorf education, in which artistic creativity is an important aspect and is practised accordingly.

The Waldorf School choir "Chemnitzer Chorallen" will also perform at the vernissage and the student company "Pamoja" will provide culinary delights.

The exhibition is part of the Chemnitz school's celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the Waldorf school movement. It can be seen until 1 November 2019 on the premises of the adult education centre during normal opening hours.
