Volunteers are honoured
Festive event on 5 December, 4 p.m., Town Hall, City Council Chamber
On Monday, 5 December, from 4 pm, the Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz, Sven Schulze, will be honouring numerous volunteers from Chemnitz for their commitment. The occasion is the International Day of Volunteering. The ceremony will take place in the City Council Chamber of the Town Hall.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
A total of 37 volunteers will be honoured and receive a thank-you card, which will be presented to them by Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and the City of Chemnitz's Disability Officer and Deputy Chairwoman of the Chemnitz Community Foundation, Petra Liebetrau. Six of the honourees will also sign the city's Golden Book.
Guests at the ceremony will include representatives of the Chemnitz Community Foundation, the Chemnitz Volunteer Centre, various social, sports and leisure clubs, initiatives, neighbourhood management and representatives of the Welfare League.
