Volunteering forum at the adult education centre with new topics

Together with the Chemnitz Community Foundation, the adult education centre is offering two new topics for active members of associations. On Monday, 2 March, from 5 to 6.30 p.m., the topic will be: "Founding a non-profit association - does it make sense?". On the same day, from 6.45 to 8.15 p.m., the participants will look at "Staring or looking away - how to deal with people with disabilities". The event will take place in the VHS, course room 4.07. Participation is free of charge.

About the content:
Founding a non-profit organisation - does it make sense?
Many people have good ideas about how they can help their fellow human beings. However, ignorance or fear of bureaucracy are often obstacles to doing this in the form of an organisation. As a result, a lot of potential remains unutilised. In the seminar, we will provide you with knowledge about the legal form of an "association" and give you tips for the concrete realisation of a project idea leading to the foundation of an association.

Stare or look away - about dealing with people with disabilities
Ignorance is usually the reason why many people are unsure how they should behave towards people with disabilities - in everyday life, but also in the work of associations. Sascha Stolze is himself dependent on a wheelchair as a result of an accident; in his experience report, he gives participants valuable recommendations for action. Sascha Stolze's aim is to break down prejudices and make a contribution to an inclusive society.
