Viva la musica!

Municipal Music School: Joint concert with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra - on 28 February, 6 p.m., Chemnitz Opera House

On Saturday 28 February at 6 pm, all music lovers are invited to a special concert in the opera house.
Tickets can be purchased at Tickets Theatre Chemnitz_Viva la Musica .

At the centre of the concert is the work "Helden auf dem Notenblatt" by composer Franz Kanefzky - a fantastic musical journey in which the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Chemnitz Young Choir, members of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra and five speakers from the Municipal Music School tell of the thrilling adventures of the sound heroes Terz and Sekund. Together, the two heroes go on a journey across the sheet of music, cross seas of triplets, encounter the mystical fifth and the dreaded tritone, climb mountains of sound and solve exciting puzzles.

The work "Helden auf dem Notenblatt" heralds the second part of the "Viva la musica!" concert format. In the first part, other orchestras and outstanding ensembles from the Municipal Music School will present themselves on this evening.

During the second week of the winter holidays, the pupils of Chemnitz Municipal Music School rehearsed intensively every day together with the professional musicians of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra and prepared for the upcoming "Viva la musica!" concert.

Viva la musica! project
In the "Viva la musica!" concert project, which has been taking place regularly since 2011, pupils from the Municipal Music School join forces with musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra to express their great passion for music. The idea behind it: The young musicians learn from the professionals, while the professionals are infected by the enthusiasm and energy of the young talents.
