Visit of the Federal President to Chemnitz

Invitation for media representatives - accreditation required by 30 October

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visits Chemnitz on 1 November 2018.

Programme:
12.15 p.m. Chemnitz City Hall, Markt 1, 09111 Chemnitz

  • Arrival at Chemnitz City Hall and welcome by the Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig (item 1)
  • Entry in the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz followed by a speech by the Federal President (item 2)

Note: Each media representative can only attend one of the two points. Participation in point 1 excludes participation in point 2 and vice versa. Please indicate in your accreditation which point you will be attending (either "Welcome" OR "Golden Book, soundbite").

2.00 pm State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz (smac), Stefan-Heym-Platz 1, 09111 Chemnitz

  • Opening of the coffee table with citizens of Chemnitz (open to the press)

Note: Media representatives will leave the room after the opening. A workroom is available in the smac. At the end of the event, there will be the opportunity to conduct interviews with some of the participating citizens.

Important technical information for editorial offices:

  • Accreditation ends on Tuesday, 30 October 2018, 10 am. Media representatives should register individually by name (also applies to photographers, cameramen/women, assistants, sound technicians, etc.) with the City of Chemnitz press office by email at pressestelle(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. Please use the accreditation form in the attachment. All requested data must be provided. Participation is not possible without timely registration and confirmation of accreditation.   • When registering, please indicate at which point you would like to be present at 12.15 p.m. at the town hall (either welcome OR Golden Book and original soundtrack).
  • Central confirmation of accreditation for the press events in Chemnitz (City Hall and smac) will take place at City Hall on 1 November from 10.30 to 11.30 am.
    Please bring a valid identity document with you.
  • Please note that you will not be able to leave the accreditation room after registering at the town hall until the start of the points. You will be escorted to the respective pixel.
  • Only media representatives who have been accredited at the town hall in the morning will be granted access to the smac. A further security check will take place at the smac between 12.45 and 13.30.
