Visit from the Chinese twin city Taiyuan to Chemnitz
Visits to medical facilities and expert discussions are on the programme for the guests - Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the four-member delegation from No 2 People's Hospital Taiyuan
Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig will welcome the Chinese guests from Taiyuan on Friday, 14 September 2012, 7 pm, at a closing evening in the Ratskeller.
The delegation from Taiyuan includes
Prof Ren Xiaoyi, Ms Shen Ming, Prof Li Xuhong and Ms Li Hongjiang. The delegation will be accompanied by interpreter Ms Yanchao Richter.
The programme for the Taiyuan delegation's visit:
The guests will arrive in Chemnitz late Monday afternoon (10 September). The official programme begins on Tuesday (11 September) with an all-day visit to Chemnitz Hospital. The guests will be welcomed by Prof. Dr med. habil. Jürgen Klingelhöfer, Medical Director and Mrs Rosemarie Schumann, Commercial Director. The day's programme includes a presentation of the hospital and its subsidiaries, a tour of the women's and children's clinic and the newly opened Central Emergency Department, as well as a tour of Flemmingstraße Hospital.
On Wednesday (12 September), the programme includes a tour of Küchwald Hospital and a discussion with doctors on the care of oncological and geriatric patients, followed by a visit to Dresdner Straße Hospital and the Geriatric Rehabilitation Clinic.
On Thursday (13 September), the guests from the twin city are expected to visit the Hospiz - und Palliativdienst Chemnitz e.V. hospice and palliative care service and then tour the Heim gGmbH retirement and nursing homes in Glösa and Harthau as well as the SenVital retirement home.
On Friday (14 September), the programme includes a visit to Zeisigwaldkliniken Bethanien Chemnitz as well as a visit and presentation at the company Telemedizin in Zschopauer Straße 66.
The final dinner in the Ratskeller on Friday evening will conclude the packed programme of the Chinese guests' stay in Chemnitz. The Lord Mayor welcomed the delegation from Taiyuan and the managing directors of the Chemnitz institutions involved in the visit programme.
In addition to visiting the various medical facilities and holding technical discussions, the guests from Taiyuan will also get to know Chemnitz on a city tour. Visits are also planned to Dresden and Berlin before the return flight home.

Taiyuan (People's Republic of China) is the capital of Shanxi Province and therefore the political, economic and cultural centre of the region. The city currently has 3.3 million inhabitants. It is the chemical and energy centre of the province, has rich mineral resources and is one of the most important industrial cities in China. Major industries include steel, mechanical engineering, textiles, light industry, food, pharmaceuticals and precision metrology. Taiyuan's airport is one of the most modern in China. The city has two universities. The twinning agreement was signed in Chemnitz on 17 May 1999.
