Visit by Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel

Traffic restrictions from Thursday, 15 November, from 6 a.m.

Chancellor Angela Merkel will be visiting Chemnitz on Friday, 16 November. For this reason, there will be traffic restrictions.

The following closures and restrictions will come into effect on Thursday, 15 November:

  • From 6 a.m. closure of Fabrikstraße between Hartmannstraße and Bierbrücke
  • Closure of the car park behind the Hartmannhalle from 3 p.m., including access via Fabrikstraße


On Friday, 16 November, from 6 a.m., the following closures and restrictions will come into effect:

  • Closure of the Hartmannstraße car park opposite the Chemnitz police station
  • Closure of the Arndtplatz car park
  • No stopping on both sides of Promenadenstraße between Theunertstraße and Hartmannstraße
  • No stopping on both sides of Schloßstraße between Hartmannstraße and Arndtstraße
  • No stopping on both sides of Theunertstraße


The traffic restrictions will be lifted again on Friday 16 November on the instructions of the police.
