VHS clarifies: What parents should know about children's photo rights
On Thursday, 12 March, from 6.45 to 8.15 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre and the SAEK invite you to an information evening on the topic "Right to your own photo - information for parents" in the TIETZ, course room 4.59. Participation is free of charge. Participation is free of charge.
It is about the rights when taking and (digitally) distributing photos of (your own) children. What should parents know about publishing rights? The event explains these questions. It sensitises parents and teachers to the careful handling of photos of children of all ages.
Children are a popular subject and photos are taken quickly. Photos of their own and other people's children are just as quickly and readily published on social networks or on the notice board at daycare centres or schools. What actually happens to photos of your own children that are shared online? Where do they end up? What exceptions restrict the so-called "right to one's own image"? Who is authorised to decide?
This event is a cooperation between the Saxon Training and Testing Channel (SAEK) Chemnitz and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
