"Urban cosiness" on the Brühl

Exhibition opening of the Young Friends of Art Chemnitz in an empty shop

For one week, the Junge Kunstfreunde Chemnitz are presenting an exhibition of works by Jonathan McNaughton and Steffen Volmer entitled "Urbane Gemütlichkeit" (Urban Cosiness) in the vacant Brühl 49 shop.

The displacement of places of relaxation in the urban environment by places of consumption and the accompanying simulation of a cosy feeling in order to disguise this process are central themes of their joint work.
The Brühl is the perfect place to present the installation by the two artists. The exhibition can be viewed at Brühl 49 from 1 to 8 December.

The vernissage will take place on Saturday, 1 December at 8 pm.

Further events are planned for the exhibition's supporting programme:

2 December, 7 pm, Brühl 49:
Concert with singer-songwriter Maik Müller

4 December, 7 p.m., Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz:
Urban stories. Rethinking urban development. An evening of dialogue

8 December, 8 pm, Brühl 49:
Finissage.

Admission is free of charge.
