Upgrading the Reitbahn neighbourhood
Redesign of Reitbahnstraße between Moritzstraße and Annenstraße - construction work starts on 15 March - closure of the landward direction of travel required
On Monday, 15 March, construction work will begin on the redesign of Reitbahnstraße between Moritzstraße and Annenstraße to further enhance the Reitbahn district.
In this section, trees are to be planted on the landward side. Ten accessible planting beds are planned as part of this measure. At the same time, the existing paving will be replaced with paving slabs and bicycle stands will be installed in this area. Work will also be carried out on the traffic lights. In future, the left-turn lane from Reitbahnstraße into Annenstraße will be removed.
The construction work will take place while the landward carriageway of Reitbahnstraße is closed during the construction phase. Completion is planned for the beginning of May 2021.
The construction costs amount to around 170,000 euros. Half of this is being financed with urban development funds.
The work is being carried out by Asphalt-Bau Chemnitz Tief- & Straßenbau GmbH from Bernsdorf.
