Update on hepatitis A at the Schloßgrundschule
This morning, all the offices involved discussed how to proceed.
The current situation is as follows:
- From next Thursday, the school will reopen for children with existing vaccination status, until then the rooms will be disinfected.
- The public health department will be offering vaccinations for all affected children and adults on its premises from 8.30 a.m. on Monday, 18 November, unless they have been vaccinated by their family doctor or paediatrician.
- From next Thursday, the after-school care centre will be able to look after a maximum of 60 children; work is currently underway to increase the number of places. Attempts are also currently being made to secure school meals.
- Parents will be brought up to date via the school next Tuesday.
- Due to the legal requirements, people who are vaccinated promptly now will not be able to return to school until the beginning of December at the earliest. People who are not vaccinated will not be allowed to return to school until mid-December at the earliest.
The City of Chemnitz will continue to provide regular updates on the situation.
