Update of the Chemnitz 2025 sports development plan is added

At its meeting today, the City Council approved an addendum and additions to the previously approved update of the Chemnitz 2025 Sports Development Plan (FSEP). Inclusion in the sports development plan is a prerequisite for the granting of funding. The municipal subsidies for the measures are subject to the availability of budget funds.

The following projects were subsequently included or added:

  1. Inclusion of the existing archery sports facility (Bogensportclub Chemnitz-Rabenstein e. V.) and the measure "Conversion of an agricultural hall into a training hall" in the FSEP's recommendations for action.

  1. In addition, the
  • the planned construction of a two-court sports hall by Eubaer SV 92 e. V,
  • the planned construction of an artificial turf pitch for hockey by Postsportverein Chemnitz e. V. and the construction of a cricket pitch by
  • construction of a cricket pitch by USG Chemnitz e. V.

further locations are included in the FSEP and its recommendations for action.

  1. Furthermore, the development of skater sports shows a growing demand that cannot be met in the current rental property. This demand was also included in the decision in the updated sports development plan in order to derive corresponding recommendations for action in the future.

The sports development plan and its updates and additions provide a framework for action and guidelines. The implementation of the measures identified therein is always subject to the availability of funds, whereby the financial framework for action is limited and therefore measures cannot be realised simultaneously.

The inclusion of these sports facility locations and their planned projects in the FSEP does not constitute a legal entitlement to funding.

In addition to the availability of financial resources, an essential prerequisite for the realisation of the above-mentioned projects is the examination of their eligibility for approval under planning and building regulations.
