Until 1 January: Survey on local supply
Chemnitz residents have until 1 January 2021 to take part in an online survey on local supply. The survey asks about shopping behaviour and suggestions to better analyse and further develop the local supply situation in the Chemnitz city area. Questions include, for example:
- How often do you buy everyday goods?
- Do you use discounters, supermarkets, drinks markets, weekly markets, etc.?
- Do you use online shopping for your groceries?
- Which means of transport do you use for shopping?
- What do you miss in the neighbourhood where you regularly shop?
shopping? - What ideas do you have for improving local shopping?
The answers will be incorporated into the analysis of the current situation, which is being carried out for the current update of the city's retail and centre concept. The findings will also serve as a basis for further planning to supply the population in the city's neighbourhoods with everyday goods.
The willingness to participate has been high so far. Around 2,000 people have already taken part. One result of the survey is that online retail only plays a subordinate role in the food sector. This confirms the high importance of the so-called stationary trade in the supply of food. The survey results to date also clearly show the districts in which the deficits in local supply are strongly emphasised. The neighbourhoods of Reichenhain and Kapellenberg can be highlighted here as examples. The residents of these two neighbourhoods took part in the survey in large numbers. However, there are also neighbourhoods whose residents have so far participated less in the survey. This applies in particular to the Grüna, Helbersdorf, Morgenleite, Rottluff and Yorck neighbourhoods.
