Unscheduled provision of commitment authorisations for building construction measures

The City Council today approved the unscheduled provision of commitment appropriations for various building construction measures. The funds come from the budget for the construction of the new secondary school on Hartmannplatz, which are not yet required in the financial year due to the status of the project there.

  • Harthau primary school: The overall construction project is divided into three construction phases. The tenders for the entire construction project are to be issued this year so that the sections can merge as seamlessly as possible and so that different companies are not working on the construction site for each trade. The target completion date is December 2019.
  • Reichenhain primary school: The tenders for scaffolding work, façade (insulating plaster), roofing/roof plumbing, carpentry, natural stone work (listed building), outdoor facilities and metalwork are to be carried out in the coming months so that contracts can be awarded before the end of the year. The planned start of realisation of the relevant construction measures is scheduled for March/April 2019. This schedule can only be realised with early tenders. There are also requirements from the environmental agency for the façade, which means that the scaffolding, roof and façade work must be started before the breeding season. The construction work is scheduled for completion at the start of the new 2019/2020 school year.
  • Heinrich Heine Primary School: It is planned to carry out the tenders for the shell construction, heating, sanitary, ventilation and electrical services in the 4th quarter of 2018 in order to ensure an optimal start to the realisation of these services in 2019. The construction project is scheduled for completion at the start of the 2021/2022 school year.
  • Daycare centre A.-Köhler-Straße 93: Work on the outdoor facilities will begin in October 2018 and will continue after the winter break until June 2019. All tenders must be invited this year in order to adhere to the construction schedule. Commitment authorisation in the amount of the budget for 2019 is required for this.
  • Construction of the new fire service technical centre: It is planned to carry out the tenders for the finishing trades in the 4th quarter of 2018 in order to ensure an optimal start to the realisation of these services in 2019. The construction project is scheduled for completion in October of next year.
