Fake online shops, hacked accounts, data misuse or viruses on smartphones – scams and tricks are becoming increasingly insidious and therefore harder to spot. This is precisely where the live hacking events come in: Two IT experts will demonstrate live on a laptop how cybercriminals carry out their attacks, where dangers lurk in everyday internet use, and how you can protect yourself. After all, if you’re aware of digital threats, you can navigate the internet more safely, both in your private and professional life.
People protect themselves against burglaries with security locks and alarm systems. Against cyberattacks, however, people are far less well prepared. This is evident from the Bitkom 2025 study and the Federal Government’s 2026 Cybersecurity Monitor. The threat from the internet is often underestimated, and very little is invested in protective measures. IT professionals will vividly demonstrate just how reckless this can be at the ‘The Hackers Are Coming’ events.
The events are taking place as part of the ‘Digital? But safe!’ series in collaboration with the Saxon State Chancellery, the Saxony Consumer Advice Centre, the Federal Office for Information Security, the Saxony Digital Agency and the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
