"Under Lock and Key", the exhibition about people's everyday lives during the First World War, opens on 4 March in Chemnitz Town Hall.
The coordination centre for the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz (LAP) would like to inform you that there will be another opportunity to see the exhibition "Under Lock and Key" on the occasion of the Chemnitz Peace Day.
It will open on 4 March at 3.30 pm in the exhibition room on the ground floor of Chemnitz Town Hall and will provide extraordinary insights into everyday life between 1914 and 1918, which was shaped by the war, until 20 March.
As part of the research and exhibition project "14-18 WAR WAS - Shared Memories", this installation visualises moments from life during the First World War. It is important to preserve such testimonies as images in people's memories. After all, they reflect the value of peace in our consciousness. With this approach, the exhibition ties in directly with the aim of the Chemnitz Peace Day.
Prof Ulrike Brummert from the Institute for European Studies / Romance Cultural Studies at Chemnitz University of Technology will give a talk at the exhibition opening entitled "Images swim in memory".
The exhibition was designed by Juliane Schöllner, Marcel Wendt and curator Prof Ines Bruhn.
