Uncomplicated authorisation of spontaneous parties now possible

New: Register events up to 48 hours in advance - Non-commercial events possible in four areas in the city centre

Mayor Barbara Ludwig, together with Mayor of Public Order Miko Runkel, today presented a procedure with which so-called spontaneous parties can be registered quickly and unbureaucratically. The city of Chemnitz offers four areas that are suitable for this, so that longer registration periods can be dispensed with.

"We want to offer this in future," says Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig. "Of course, we won't be able to satisfy all interested parties, and there may be one or two complaints. Nevertheless, we have decided in favour of the opportunity, in favour of making it possible. After the summer, we will know how the offer is received and evaluate it together."

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:

The administration offers Richard-Hartmann-Platz and three barbecue areas - at Uferpark, Stadtparkkippe and Park Kappel - as locations for these parties. Spontaneous parties must be notified 48 hours in advance using the registration form. On Fridays and before public holidays, the deadline is 12 noon. For the weekend, notifications must also be received by 12 noon on Friday at the latest. As an additional service, location sheets with the necessary framework conditions will be created for the four locations by June to ensure that the event is organised in a regulated manner and is therefore safe for visitors. These sheets will also show, for example, where a music system can be placed.

PLEASE NOTE THIS:

The most important conditions for the spontaneous parties: They must be non-commercial, which means that no admission is charged and no drinks or snacks are sold. The number of visitors must not exceed 300 at the three barbecue areas and 500 at Richard-Hartmann-Platz. The organisers must ensure that the safety of visitors is guaranteed and that the event ends by 10 p.m. at the latest, thus complying with the recreational noise directive. In addition, the organiser must ensure that rubbish or other debris is removed by 10 a.m. on the following day. Usage fees must be paid for the pitches in accordance with the applicable statutes. These fees range from ten to 50 cents per square metre depending on the area used.

Important: Stages, temporary structures, tents etc. cannot be set up at spontaneous parties, as these structures must be authorised for safety reasons. If you are planning to do this, please continue to register the planned event six weeks in advance.

The use of private areas for non-public spontaneous parties is still possible without notification. The use is the responsibility of the owner and organiser.
