Two formats on the topic of sustainability
Adult Education Centre: Caricature exhibition from 7 March in the TIETZ, 5th floor and documentary film on 14 March, 6.45 pm, TIETZ, Room 5.36
From Tuesday, 7 March, the exhibition "Full steam ahead to disaster?" can be seen in the adult education centre on the 5th floor of the TIETZ. It shows caricatures from Eastern and Western Europe on the subject of the climate crisis and can be viewed free of charge and without registration until 30 March during TIETZ opening hours (Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 7 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm). The exhibition is part of the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre's current focus on sustainability.
On Tuesday, 14 March at 6.45 pm in room 5.36, the adult education centre will be showing the documentary film "2040 - We're Saving the World!" from 2019 by Australian filmmaker Damon Gameau.
The film poses the question of what can be done to leave future generations a planet worth living on and whether we can stop climate change or at least limit it to a tolerable level. For the film, Gameau travelled around the world in a climate-neutral way to look for solutions to the climate policy problems of our time. He shows that there are already technologies and possibilities that would mitigate many problems, but are not being consistently utilised and applied. Electricity generation, sustainable agriculture, education and mobility are some of the topics. The film screening will be followed by a discussion.

The film and exhibition aim to raise awareness, motivate, inspire hope and draw attention to the current focus of the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
