"Badger and Rocket" - Jörg Isermeyer
On Tuesday 28 October at 4.30 pm, Jörg Isermeyer will read from his book "Dachs und Rakete" (Badger and Rocket). The reading is suitable for children aged 5 and over.
Mr Badger and the snail Rocket are best friends. They have created a wonderful home for themselves around an old copper beech tree with vegetable patches and raspberry bushes. The two of them enjoy life and every evening they watch the sun disappear behind the horizon.
But the idyll is threatened when half an excavator is suddenly stuck in the badger's burrow and an eviction notice flutters into the house. Their home is to make way for a leisure park. Opposition and protest are futile. The only thing left for them to do is move to the city ...
Two award-winning children's book authors read
City Library: Jörg Isermeyer on 28 October and Boris Koch on 29 October, both at 4.30 pm, TIETZ, Central Library
On Tuesday and Wednesday, 28 and 29 October, at 4.30 pm, two award-winning children's book authors will be guests at the Central Library for readings as part of the "Universum Bibliothek" series. Admission to both readings is free of charge.

Jörg Isermeyer, born in Bad Segeberg in 1968, travelled all over Europe as a street musician. After completing his studies, he chose a career as a freelance artist over a university career and now lives in Bremen as an actor, director, theatre teacher, musician and writer.
He has received numerous awards for his books, including the Leipzig Book Fair's "Reading Compass" three times and currently the Gustav Heinemann Peace Prize for children's and young adult books.
"School of horror" - Boris Koch
On Wednesday, 29 October, 4.30 pm - just before Halloween - it will be spooky and the goths are on the loose. Boris Koch will be reading from his book "Schule des Schreckens".
The reading is suitable for children aged 10 and over.
Kilian's lessons are constantly being cancelled: Teacher shortage. What doesn't bother Kilian drives his parents crazy. So much so that they even move house and send Kilian to a new school. Because at the Buchenschlag boarding school in the Teufelsforst, everything is about to change. Kilian and his new friends Ole and Yunai soon find out why: former teachers at the boarding school swore during their lifetime to support the school even after death if necessary. And so the undead emerge from their tomb during the day and teach the children using subterranean teaching methods. What sounds crazy is exactly that: sometimes crazy, mostly funny - at least Kilian thinks so. But others are not so relaxed about this pact and plan a diabolical conspiracy...
Boris Koch, born in 1973, is a freelance author living in Leipzig. In his twenty or so novels to date, he has searched for treasures and healed dragons, raced rabbits and followed will-o'-the-wisps into the moor. His readings have taken him to numerous schools, but not yet to a school of horror. So he had to invent them. He has received several awards for his writing.
