Tuberculosis case at Gablenz primary school: teacher is cured - further infections are ruled out

The teacher who contracted tuberculosis at Gablenz primary school has been cured. The clinic treating her informed the health department of the city of Chemnitz yesterday.

The final clinical examinations showed that there was no risk of infection for contact persons. Therefore, the second blood test initially planned for the contact persons, including the pupils, teachers and other staff at the primary school, is no longer necessary. The first blood test had also shown no evidence of infection.

After becoming aware of the illness at the end of July, the public health department informed people who had been in close contact with the infected teacher. Those affected were given individual counselling and tested if necessary.
